A Practice Built on Purpose, Creativity, and Real Change.
Where Growth takes Root
Solid Ground Mental Health came to life because I wanted therapy to feel less like a rigid routine and more like a creative partnership.
I dreamed of a space where clients could chase their biggest goals—and maybe even surprise themselves along the way. Private practice gave me the freedom to make that dream real.
I wholeheartedly believe that when someone invests in themselves and commits to the process, the transformation is nothing short of extraordinary. And getting to witness those journeys? That’s the kind of soul-filling work that makes me feel like I hit the career jackpot.
You are the only version of you to ever exist in the universe. You are great, you are powerful, you are special.

My journey into the world of mental health began in college, where I met a mentor who helped me grow in ways I hadn’t imagined. That experience sparked something deeper, and during an internship as an on-call advocate, I discovered my true calling—supporting others through meaningful, transformative work.
I believe everyone deserves to live a life that feels authentic, joyful, and whole. Sometimes that means asking tough questions, challenging old beliefs, and learning to trust yourself again. Therapy can be a powerful tool for breaking through barriers and rediscovering confidence.
Over the years, I’ve worked with children, families, couples, and adults from diverse backgrounds. While I didn’t expect to work with children initially, specialized training opened my heart to the unique needs of traumatized youth—and those who are still children at heart.
I earned my undergraduate degree from the College of Saint Benedict and my Master of Arts from Saint Mary’s University. My internship at a residential treatment center led to a role as an in-home therapist, eventually transitioning to work in a locked unit with some of the state’s most complex cases. From there I’ve served small communities in the St. Cloud area through private practice.
Outside of work, I recharge on the farm, through time surrounded by family, furry companions, and friends.

My name is Elisabeth Wallen, and I facilitate the social skills groups at Solid Ground Mental Health. I guide children in building confidence and navigating social situations with greater ease. With over fifteen years in education—as a special education teacher, paraprofessional, and parent volunteer—I’ve developed a deep passion for helping children grow socially and emotionally.
My expertise lies in supporting children with learning disabilities, behavioral and emotional challenges, and those on the Autism Spectrum. I believe every child holds unique strengths and untapped potential. When given the right tools and environment, they can flourish in ways that honor their individuality.
Children learn in diverse ways, and many struggle when confined to rigid expectations. That’s why I’m committed to creating spaces where they can explore, express, and connect without judgment. Through our social skills groups, we challenge conventional molds and celebrate the many ways children learn and thrive. Together, we break the box—and build something better.

Meep, Oscar, and Cinnamin (Minnie) are emotional support cats that live at the office. Someone is here to take care of them daily. They love to play, snuggle, knock things off desks, and bird watch. You will often find them greeting folks at the door or taking a cat nap on their towers.
