A Practice Built on Purpose, Creativity, and Real Change.

Where Growth takes Root

Solid Ground Mental Health came to life because I wanted therapy to feel less like a rigid routine and more like a creative partnership.

I dreamed of a space where clients could chase their biggest goals—and maybe even surprise themselves along the way. Private practice gave me the freedom to make that dream real.

I wholeheartedly believe that when someone invests in themselves and commits to the process, the transformation is nothing short of extraordinary. And getting to witness those journeys? That’s the kind of soul-filling work that makes me feel like I hit the career jackpot.

You are the only version of you to ever exist in the universe. You are great, you are powerful, you are special.

Meet the Team

  • My path into mental health was illuminated by a mentor who saw potential in me before I could see it in myself. That spark grew during my time as an on-call advocate, where I stood in the trenches with people during their most vulnerable moments. It was there I discovered my calling: walking alongside others as they navigate the journey toward healing.

I believe you deserve a life that feels authentic, vibrant, and whole. Sometimes, reaching that place requires the courage to peel back old layers, challenge long-held beliefs, and gently learn to trust your own voice again. Therapy isn't just about solving problems; it is a transformative space to break through barriers and reclaim your confidence.

My experience spans a wide tapestry of lives, from children and families to couples and adults. My early work with traumatized youth deeply moved me, fueling a commitment to specialized trauma training that now anchors my work with adults, teens, and couples. Having served in high-intensity residential units and supported small communities in the St. Cloud area, I am seasoned in holding space for adults, couples, and teens working through trauma, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship struggles.

I hold an undergraduate degree from the College of Saint Benedict and a Master of Arts from Saint Mary’s University. These academic roots, combined with years of private practice, allow me to offer you both clinical expertise and deep, human empathy.

To stay grounded, I return to the quiet rhythms of farm life. I find my own restoration through music, the beauty of the arts, and the joy of time spent with my family, friends, and furry companions.

  • My name is Elisabeth Wallen, and I facilitate the social skills groups at Solid Ground Mental Health. I guide children in building confidence and navigating social situations with greater ease. With over fifteen years in education—as a special education teacher, paraprofessional, and parent volunteer—I’ve developed a deep passion for helping children grow socially and emotionally.

My expertise lies in supporting children with learning disabilities, behavioral and emotional challenges, and those on the Autism Spectrum. I believe every child holds unique strengths and untapped potential. When given the right tools and environment, they can flourish in ways that honor their individuality.

Children learn in diverse ways, and many struggle when confined to rigid expectations. That’s why I’m committed to creating spaces where they can explore, express, and connect without judgment. Through our social skills groups, we challenge conventional molds and celebrate the many ways children learn and thrive. Together, we break the box—and build something better.

  • Meep, Oscar, and Cinnamin (Minnie) are emotional support cats that live at the office. Someone is here to take care of them daily. They love to play, snuggle, knock things off desks, and bird watch. You will often find them greeting folks at the door or taking a cat nap on their towers.

Let’s connect.
